A Dominican man will join his older brother in prison for his role in a conspiracy to bring large amounts of fentanyl into Maine.
De Leon and his co-conspirators, including his brother, 30-year-old Alexis, funneled fentanyl into Maine from Massachusetts, using Facebook and other means to contact associates, distributors and customers, the U.S. attorney’s office said.
Federal drug agents and Maine state troopers stopped De Leon and his brother in June 2024 while they were headed to Bangor with a shipment of fentanyl.
De Leon was found to have trafficked just over 44 pounds of fentanyl into Maine, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
He pleaded guilty to his role in the conspiracy on Oct. 22, 2025.
