A Wayne County, Missouri, man has been sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison after admitting to making multiple threats against employees of the Social Security Administration during telephone calls in 2025. According to court records, Stevens made the threats on Oct. 1, 2025, after speaking with a Social Security Administration employee in Pennsylvania. After the employee advised him that the Social Security Administration treats all threats seriously, Stevens escalated his remarks by saying he intended to go on a shooting spree and blow up Social Security offices. Approximately 30 minutes later, Stevens placed another call that reached a Social Security Administration employee in California. The investigation was conducted by the Federal Protective Police and Homeland Security Investigations, a division of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
