Guyana Power and Light Inc. (GPL) has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pacific & Auro Power Inc., a joint venture between a local company and a multinational company, to establish a framework for identifying, evaluating and developing potential power sector infrastructure projects in Guyana. The MoU was signed on behalf of GPL by the Company’s Head of the Executive Management Committee, Kesh Nandlall, and provides a non-exclusive framework for collaboration. Under the agreement, the parties will work together to identify opportunities across a range of priority areas, including transmission and distribution infrastructure, substations, power generation, renewable energy, battery energy storage systems and grid modernisation initiatives. As a non-binding agreement, neither party is obligated to proceed with any project unless a separate definitive agreement is executed. The MoU was signed by Nandlall, Head of the Executive Management Committee, in the presence of Divisional Director, Ryan Ross, and Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Bharrat Harjohn.
