San Francisco Unicorns are through to the qualifier in the ExxonMobil Guyana Global Super League (GSL) T20 after beating Lahore Qalandars by seven wickets on Wednesday at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence. The outcome means Unicorns, who finished second on the table with four points, will play third placed Desert Vipers in Friday’s qualifier from 7pm. Despite also finishing on four points, Qalandars ended fourth via net run rate. In Match Nine, Qalandars opted to bat first and made 152-6, a total that proved inadequate as Unicorns won with 28 balls to spare. Earlier, Qalandar’s prolific opener Shayan Jahangir struck a blistering 61, his second fifty of the tournaments, to set up a solid foundation.
