Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) President Fouzi Lekjaa called for a national strategy to increase the presence of domestic league players in Morocco’s national teams, according to Almountakhab. Morocco selected only two Botola players, both reserve goalkeepers, for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He urged coaches, club officials, and federation leaders to develop a clear plan before Morocco co-hosts the 2030 FIFA World Cup with Spain and Portugal. Fathi Jamal, the federation’s technical development director, said limited playing time has slowed the progress of young players. FRMF plans to meet with club presidents to seek greater opportunities for young players and strengthen the Botola’s role in developing national team talent.
