FIFA has proposed increasing global football development funding to more than $10 billion, significantly boosting financial support for its 211 member associations through a new commercial structure called FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE), according to the governing body. Regular FIFA Forward funding would increase from $8 million to $20 million per association for the 2027-2030 cycle, with further increases planned in subsequent cycles. FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE), a FIFA-owned subsidiary, would manage the organization’s commercial rights and event operations and would raise up to $4.2 billion by selling minority, non-controlling stakes to long-term investors. FIFA would retain full control over governance, competitions, and sporting decisions, and all net profits would be reinvested into football development. Gianni Infantino, FIFA president, said the initiative is intended to ensure football’s commercial success benefits every federation by supporting infrastructure, coaching, grassroots football, women’s football, and national teams worldwide.
