Morocco’s agricultural and food exports rose to a record MAD 86.2 billion ($9.2 billion) in 2025, up 38% from 2020, reinforcing the sector’s position as the country’s third-largest source of foreign currency, according to a statement by the Ministry of Agriculture cited by Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP). Export volumes reached 4.7 million tonnes in 2025, up 9% from 2020 and 49% higher than in 2015. The sector accounted for about 18% of Morocco’s total exports. Despite the overall growth, citrus exports fell 12% during the 2025-26 export season to 553,000 tonnes from 626,000 tonnes a year earlier as prolonged drought and water shortages reduced citrus production. Exports of fruit and vegetables also declined, particularly tomatoes.
