From genomic medicine to ecommerce operations, these winning AI agents show what becomes possible when agents have access to trusted, real-time data. Those were just a few of the ideas submitted during the Google Cloud Rapid Agent Hackathon, where more than 14,500 developers registered and 1,430 projects were submitted from builders around the world. Participants were challenged to build AI agents using Google Cloud and Model Context Protocol (MCP), enabling agents to securely connect with external tools and live data rather than relying solely on static prompts. It's a compelling example of how AI agents can augment human expertise when they're grounded in current, trustworthy data. The future of AI agents won't be defined by how quickly they can generate another answer.
