The system is being used in an Irizar test bus operated by Spanish bus company Alsa as part of a trial in Madrid’s public transit network. Pauer added that the Madrid trial demonstrates that Bosch fuel-cell technology is ready for the demands of large-scale deployment in passenger transport. In addition to the FCPM C190 used in the Madrid test bus, Bosch offers the FCPM C300, designed for heavy-duty tour buses and trucks. In 2025, Bosch Mobility generated sales of €55.8 billion, representing around 61% of Bosch Group sales. With the Madrid fuel-cell bus trial, Bosch is demonstrating how hydrogen technology can support cleaner public transport while offering the range and refuelling speed required for demanding bus operations.
