People in Falmouth can expect packed streets, live music, family events and a rare solar spectacle when Falmouth Week returns next month. The town’s annual summer festival runs from Friday, August 7 to Sunday, August 16, with organisers promising ten days of sailing, entertainment and free activities across Falmouth. Falmouth Week will open with the Pink Wig Mermaid March on Friday, August 7 in support of The Mermaid Centre, followed by Falmouth Carnival on Saturday, August 8, raising money for local groups and charities. Falmouth Week began as a sailing regatta in 1837 and has grown into one of Cornwall’s best-known summer events.
