Responsibility for Evesham Town Hall, a Grade II listed building, now rests fully with Evesham Town Council after a leasehold transfer from Wychavon. With Wychavon due to be abolished as part of Local Government Reorganisation in 2028, the leasehold transfer was seen as key to ensuring the destiny of the Town Hall was in the hands of Evesham residents. Councillor Richard Morris, leader of Wychavon District Council, said: "Evesham Town Hall is at the heart of the town's history and civic life, so it is only right its future should be entrusted to the community it serves. Evesham Town Council already owned the freehold for the building, but the new agreement gives them complete control over its care and management for the first time in decades. He said: "We are delighted to take on full responsibility for Evesham Town Hall, which gives us greater control over the future of this much-loved building.
