A man has been shot by police in Adelaide’s north after allegedly stabbing a female police officer in the neck. The officer was rushed to hospital with “serious injuries” and the alleged offender was taken to hospital after being shot in the leg. At about 11 am local time, police were called to reports of a male running onto Main North Road at Elizabeth East armed with a knife. “Police are responding to an incident on Main North Road near the intersection of Fairfield Road,” the post stated. “Southbound traffic on Main North Road is blocked and will be diverted,” it said.
