BEPU raises concerns as illegal miners clash in Birnin Gwari

Many people are feared dead following a violent clash involving suspected illegal miners in the Randagi community of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
While exact casualty figures have not yet been officially confirmed by security agencies, local reports indicate a high number of fatalities resulting from the violent confrontation.
Reacting to the tragedy, the Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressives Union (BEPU) has issued a formal statement demanding an immediate and thorough investigation by the government.
The union urged security agencies and other relevant authorities to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure that anyone found culpable is brought to justice in accordance with the law.
“BEPU calls on the relevant authorities to carry out a prompt, thorough and transparent investigation into the incident.
