Oxford: Anti-congestion charge group owes £14k in legal costs

Open Roads for Oxford Limited (ORFOL) raised almost £85,000 in legal costs to stop the scheme but it has now said that despite budgeting carefully, it has still been left with an outstanding bill of more than £14,000.
"We must be clear: the court did not say the scheme is fair, or popular, or well evidenced.
"What it said - and all it said - is that the Council met the minimum legal threshold required to proceed.
Despite this, the group says the legal action and costs is expensive and unpredictable.
ORFOL has said it is winding down the action group, but remains confident it has laid the foundations in which others can build upon.
