Lewis Thompson was accused of stealing more than £20,000 worth of items from a house on Charles Street. A trial at Oxford Crown Court heard how a cleaner discovered the break-in when they found a window had been smashed while the homeowners were on holiday. But Thompson, who denied one count of burglary, told a trial on Tuesday (July 28) that ‘there is no evidence’ claiming he didn’t go inside the house. Prosecutor Neil Moore asked him why he didn’t enter the house, to which Thompson replied: “I do businesses, not homes. Thompson is currently in custody while he awaits sentence for a separate house burglary committed in December last year.
