The Instituto Cervantes de Manila is set to hold a literary translation forum titled “Traducciones de ida y vuelta” (Round Trip Translations) on July 30 in Intramuros.
The forum seeks to discuss the state of literary translation and how it strengthens cultural relations between the Philippines and Spanish-speaking countries.
She also translated “Nada,” a 1945 coming-of-age novel written by Spanish author Carmen Laforet, and wrote a collection of travel essays titled “Autumn in Madrid.”
Sales’ translated works include Gonzalo Torrente Ballester’s “Ang Kuwento ng Haring Tulala” and Gabriel Miró’s “The Leprous Bishop and Our Father San Daniel.”
“Traducciones de ida y vuelta,” a collaboration of the Instituto with the Embassy of Spain and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, is open to the public.
