Today WhatsApp is rectifying one of the major shortcomings of its web client, as it now finally supports audio and video calls. Obviously, this requires no download or installation, as it is part of WhatsApp Web, which has also gained support for screen sharing, reactions, and a dedicated Calls tab with your full call history and favorites. Like everywhere else on WhatsApp, the calls you make on WhatsApp Web are end-to-end encrypted, and have no time limits or costs. This works from the mobile app to WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop and vice versa. All of these features are rolling out "gradually" and will be available to everyone "soon", according to WhatsApp.
