14-year-old sentenced for offences including attacking police officer with shoe

A 14-year-old has been handed a custodial sentence after admitting offences including theft and assault.
The teenager, who cannot be named because of his age, pleaded guilty to six charges at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
The court heard the boy stole a chainsaw from a vehicle on Frost Lane on Monday 21st October 2024.
Sergeant Glenn Wilshere, of Waterside Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This boy has continually targeted shops across the district.
“As a Neighbourhood Policing Team, our work to tackle youth-related anti-social behaviour and criminality has a huge impact on reducing young offending.
