South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden defeated challenger Aberdeen businessman Toby Doeden last night in the first runoff election of its kind in state’s history. Rhoden will serve as the GOP nominee for Governor in the upcoming general election this November. He will square off against Democrat Dan Ahlers. Rhoden defeated Doeden with 71 percent of the vote or 83,582 votes to 29 percent or 34,430. Governor Rhoden spoke on his victory from his watch party in Sioux Falls…Doeden conceded the race around 9:00 p.m. from his watch party in Aberdeen.
