Draymond Green will remain with the Golden State Warriors after agreeing to a one-year, $27.7 million contract, bringing one of the franchise’s most accomplished players back for a 15th season. The Warriors ultimately fell short in their pursuit of James, who instead chose to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers. With the free-agent market largely settled, Golden State moved quickly to finalize Green’s return at the original salary figure. The one-year structure also gives the Warriors flexibility heading into the 2027 offseason while avoiding a longer-term financial commitment to one of the league’s oldest veteran cores. Golden State is still expected to complete other roster moves, including the reported addition of guard De’Anthony Melton, as the front office looks to build a competitive roster around Curry, Green and Butler for the upcoming season.
