JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)Safety measures are in place for day two of the MR340 race, as the Jefferson City Carl R. Noren Access checkpoint opens Wednesday morning for the longest non-stop river race in the world. Hundreds of racers are paddling the river in this annual statewide race, which began Tuesday in Kansas City. The Carl R. Noren Access in Jefferson City is checkpoint number three along the race route and racers must check in with the race officials by 4 p.m. Several safety boats are stationed around each checkpoint and paddlestop to check for any racers who might need help.
