The Supreme Court on Tuesday reserved its order on the bail plea of Punjab Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora, who was arrested in an Enforcement Directorate (ED) money laundering case. He assured the Supreme Court that all necessary treatment would be provided. In its July 20 order, the apex court had instructed jail authorities to shift Arora to AIIMS for medical evaluation and sought the Medical Board’s report within two days. Arora’s regular bail plea had earlier been rejected by the Special PMLA Court on June 15, following which he approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Before the Supreme Court, senior advocates Mukul Rohatgi and Puneet Bali appeared on behalf of Arora, assisted by advocate-on-record Aditya Soni.
