Andy Burnham will hold a cross-party meeting to discuss tackling the crisis in adult social care, as he pledged to “put everything I’ve got” into fixing the system. Mr Burnham has frequently cited his personal experience of the care system, as his father lives with Alzheimer’s in a care home. He will also visit a care home on Wednesday, alongside Baroness Louise Casey, who is currently leading a commission into social care. “Fixing adult social care is about far more than money. It’s only by facing up to this problem together that we can fix social care once and for all.”
