THE tourist organisations of the Irish Free State and Northern Ireland have both promised support to a new movement with the invitation “Come to Britain” as its slogan. We have not seen any posters about the streets of Belfast inviting us to “Come to the Free State”; nor have we heard of any appeals to the holiday-makers of the Free State to “Come to Northern Ireland”. Perhaps the day will come when this curious hair-pin bend of our Irish tourist traffic will be straightened out. “Come to Ireland!” Let them “come to Ireland”, too, the part of Ireland they have not yet explored.
