Construction materials giant Breedon Group has reported a “really solid” first half performance in which revenues rose but profits fell back.
Breedon, which is based in Leicestershire and which is listed on the London AIM market, acquired Whitemountain, Lagan Cement, Lagan Brick and Lagan Asphalt under that deal eight years ago.
Breedon’s chief executive Rob Woods said: “Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our 4,900 colleagues, we have delivered a really solid financial performance in the first half and I’m pleased with the progress we have made on our strategic objectives.
“With a strong team, significant mineral reserves and well-invested production capacity, we are well positioned to deliver long-term growth and returns across all three of our platforms.”
Breedon Group’s interests in Northern Ireland centre on aggregates, asphalt, concrete, and vertically‑integrated construction materials, with the north forming a key part of its all‑Ireland growth strategy.
