Economy Minister criticises London over ‘failure to extend air tax exemption’ for new Derry to Dublin flights

Irish Minister for Transport Darragh O’Brien told the Dáil in May that the flights will take off from October this year.
The Irish government previously funded a PSO air route between City of Derry Airport and Dublin Airport for a decade from 2001 until it was discontinued in 2011.
Flights from City of Derry Airport to London have been publicly subsidised by Stormont and London since 2017.
