Having recently stepped down as Wallabies head coach, Schmidt re-enters the club rugby scene for the first time since leaving Leinster for the Ireland job in 2013. “We’re delighted to have someone of Joe’s calibre involved with Ulster Rugby. “Strengthening our coaching pathway is a key part of our long-term strategy,” said Ulster general manager Rory Best, who captained Ireland under Schmidt.
