Clients of St James's Place (SJP) were charged more than they should have been, and in some cases incurred double fees on their wealth and investments. As part of the overhaul, the firm separated its charges into advice fees, product fees and fund fees. Previously, its charges were bundled, making it difficult for clients to work out how much they were paying for each element of service.
