A spot-sized wildfire, believed to have been started by a lightning strike, has been discovered northwest of Chase. It’s one of several fires in the Shuswap area discovered in the last few days that were started by lightning strikes. Lightning is believed to have caused another nearby spot-sized fire, located on Chase-Falkland Road about 15 kilometres south of the village. BCWS also suspects lightning to have caused two wildfires discovered Tuesday evening burning west of Adams Lake.
