Hyderabad: Telangana government has announced a strategic partnership with LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) to modernize healthcare infrastructure and significantly improve the referral system across all districts.
Announcing the initiative, Health, Medical & Family Welfare Minister C Damodar Raja Narasimha emphasized the government's commitment to delivering top-tier ophthalmic treatment to every citizen.
"Our state-run healthcare network is scaling up to provide specialized eye care directly to the public.
Modernizing District HospitalsCurrently, eye care departments across 35 government medical colleges offer specialized treatments, routine eye exams, optometry services, and cataract surgeries.
Scaling Up LVPEI Partnership InitiativesFollowing a successful pilot screening program for newborn eye care in Bhadradri Kothagudem district, the government is expanding the project across other districts in phases.
