Hyderabad: After allegations of police brutality during the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, a video began circulating on social media claiming to show Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General NS Raja Subramani saying that 30,000 army personnel resigned over the protests. The viral clip shows Subramani saying, “The government needs to be lenient towards the students. More than 30,000 Indian Army jawans have resigned because they say their children are getting beaten with sticks at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. Otherwise, our armed forces..”Several users shared the video on Facebook and wrote, “Indian Chief of Defence Staff Raja Subramani releases an emergency alert in the wake of Jantar Mantar protests. More than 30,000 jawans have resigned as a protest because their children were brutally beaten at Jantar Mantar.”
