JR Smith probably wasn't thrilled with his opening-round performance at the Michael Eaves Classic and Celebrity Pro-Am at TPC Louisiana on Tuesday, but he still flashed some impressive moments for a former NBA player competing in a notable golf tournament. Still, the retired basketball player notched a birdie and 10 pars in his debut round in the Advocates Professional Golf Association (APGA). If he can build on those impressive moments and find more consistency, it is not a stretch to suggest there will be quick improvement. While Smith is best known for his basketball accolades, he is no stranger to the golf course. Since Smith is playing as an amateur, he will not be eligible for any prize money from the $25,000 purse.
