The Sedalia City Council gave authorization last week to the city’s police department to apply for a pair of grants. City administrator Matthew Wirt says the state grants would cover a pair of equipment purchases. Wirt notes that the forensic data downloader would be paid for with funds from the Missouri Blue Shield Program, while a state homeland security grant would cover the new in-car video systems. The two grants combined total $62,362. The Sedalia City Council next meets Aug. 3.
