RAY COUNTY PROSECUTOR RESPONDS TO ATTORNEY GENERAL’S LAWSUIT TO OUST HER
[]
KMMO – Marshall, MO
Ray County Prosecutor Camille Johnston has responded to Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway’s lawsuit seeking Johnston’s removal from office, asking a judge to prevent Hanaway from making public comments on the case.
Johnston filed her response to Hanaway’s quo warranto lawsuit Monday, July 27, denying the allegation that she had engaged in a relationship with an attorney whose client she was prosecuting.
However, she did acknowledge the other two relationships alleged in the lawsuit, both with men under criminal investigation.
Johnston also filed a motion Monday seeking a court order to bar the Attorney General’s office from making further public comment on the case.
In her motion, Johnston cited Hanaway’s appearances on television interviews where she alleged that Johnston, “used the charging docket as a dating app.”
