Shop fined thousands after illegal tobacco worth £17,500 found
['Robyn Bennett']
Brent & Kilburn Times | News
Cllr Promise Knight, Brent Council’s cabinet member for cleaner streets, transport and public realm, said: "Illegal tobacco has no place in Brent.
"It puts customers at risk, undermines public health and undercuts honest businesses that play by the rules.
"If you sell illegal tobacco products in our borough, you can expect to face enforcement action and prosecution."
While the business was not known to routinely sell tobacco, the court noted that it had still chosen to stock and sell the illegal products.
Anyone who suspects a business of selling illegal tobacco can report it to the Citizens Advice Helpline by calling 0808 223 1133.
