Arkadia supermarkets are set to be acquired by Azzopardi Group, in a move that would significantly expand the company’s presence in Malta’s food retail sector. Last week, Mizzi Organisation announced it would be selling its chain of five Arkadia supermarkets to a third-party buyer. The purchaser has since been identified as Azzopardi Group. Best known for Azzopardi Fisheries, the group also owns Miracle Foods and represents the SPAR supermarket brand in Malta, adding to its growing portfolio in the food industry.
