The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for seven Kerala districts on Wednesday (July 29), warning of the possibility of isolated heavy rainfall. For Wednesday, the yellow alert is in place for Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod. Yellow alerts to continue until August 1According to the IMD's forecast, the following districts are under a yellow alert over the next few days:July 30 (Thursday): Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod. A yellow alert indicates the possibility of isolated heavy rainfall. The IMD defines heavy rainfall as 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rain within 24 hours.
