A run of just 4,000 cans of a new Scottish elderflower gin spritz is being released worldwide as ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktails continue to buck a challenging drinks market. Darnley’s Elderflower Gin Spritz will launch on the 30th July, giving drinkers a lighter, botanical serve created for summer gatherings, picnics and relaxed outdoor entertaining. The 250ml canned spritz is the first ready-to-drink release from Darnley’s Gin, part of independent, family-owned Wemyss Family Spirits in East Fife. The Wine and Spirit Trade Association’s Sip 2 Report found RTD sales grew 12% by volume and 17% by value over the previous year. The new spritz brings those trends together in a premium canned serve made with all-natural ingredients and Darnley’s Original Gin, a Scottish small-batch gin produced by the Wemyss family.
