Andy Ferrarone was visiting Big Bear in California with his wife, Nina, and another couple on July 12 when the tragedy happened. While setting up his equipment for a rock climb, Mr Ferrarone fell around six metres. Close friend Brian Cox told the San Diego Tribune that Mr Ferrarone was an “expert” climber. A GoFundMe has been established by Mr Cox to help his wife navigate the “unimaginable loss” of Mr Ferrarone. In the fundraiser’s description, Mr Cox wrote that he wanted to ensure the legacy of Mr Ferrarone lived on through his unborn child.
