Following its split from Xbox, Psychonauts developer Double Fine Productions has announced layoffs. He noted that the individuals in question “were all important,” and Double Fine is “committed to supporting each affected person as best as we can.” Xbox also chimed in following the announcement, stating to Kotaku, “Double Fine fully returned to independent management earlier this week, with their IP, catalog, and runway for their next games. As they begin their next chapter as an independent studio, we look forward to seeing what they create next.” Besides Double Fine Productions, Xbox also divested Compulsion Games (South of Midnight), Ninja Theory (Senua) and Undead Labs (State of Decay).
