MOORHEAD — Before a Moorhead woman was sentenced to 180 months for the fatal stabbing of her ex-boyfriend, she addressed his loved ones. The sentence comes nearly two years after the Aug. 4, 2024, stabbing that resulted in 47-year-old Willard DeGroat Jr.'s death. By the time the witness returned, DeGroat had been stabbed in the chest and Frank was gone, according to the complaint. Caroline Field, Frank's attorney, said she thinks it's wrong to say Frank didn't take responsibility, or participate in the presentence investigation.
