Ripon, located at the centre of Yorkshire, is known for its rich heritage, independent spirit, and strong sense of identity. Alongside Yorkshire Day, Ripon will host its famous St Wilfrid's Procession, featuring vibrant floats, music, and Wilfrid himself parading through the city. Visitors are also invited to join Walter the Whippet on a trail through the city, exploring Ripon's heritage at their own pace. Local journalist Tim Flanagan has written a special poem titled Top of the Tykes, capturing Ripon's Yorkshire spirit.
