They were all charged with being involved in unlawful violence at the Nags Head in Micklegate, on September 27, 2024. Gary Ambler, 48, of Tedder Road, Acomb, Stuart William Ambler, 50, of Brentwood Crescent, off Hull Road, York, Daniel Hall, 37, of Fenwick Street, off Bishopthorpe Road, York, Christopher James Kay, 35, of North Moor Road, Huntington, Aaron Morrison, 34, of Semilong Road, Northampton, and Garrison Donne, 35, of Wheatley Avenue, Normanton, near Wakefield, made their first appearance in the case at York Magistrates' Court. At the end of the 15-minute hearing, during which lawyers for the prosecution and the defence spoke about the case, all six were sent to York Crown Court. They will appear before the higher court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on August 24 when they will be asked to enter their pleas. All six were released on unconditional bail.
