Enter Australian guns Oliver Bleddyn and Conor Leahy, who will spearhead the men's team pursuit when the Commonwealth Games track cycling program starts on Friday morning (AEST) at the Sir Chris Hoy velodrome. This will be Bleddyn's first Commonwealth Games - he missed out on Birmingham, when Australia took bronze in the men's team pursuit. The women's team pursuit will feature Felicity Wilson-Haffenden, a massive talent who won the 2023 junior road time trial world championship. The women's team sprint will be an important marker for the Australian women, who did not race in the event at the Paris Olympics. The Australian women's sprint program is still rebuilding post-Anna Meares, Kaarle McCulloch and Stef Morton.
