A Tasmanian MP has given further insight into the family violence and tragedy that unfolded in Tasmania’s north on Friday, sharing a statement on behalf of the family of the stabbing victim who remains in hospital. “Sarah’s two young daughters were exposed to traumatic events no child should ever have to experience. “The family also wishes to acknowledge the devastating loss suffered by the family of Elaine Gee. “Family violence does not only affect the person who is injured. “Sarah’s family hopes this tragedy serves as a reminder of the devastating and far-reaching impact of family violence, and of the importance of supporting victim-survivors and their children.
