The NSW government will require local councils to keep enough land planned and zoned for at least three decades of feasible housing. Premier Chris Minns addressed the need to establish a long-term housing plan for Sydney at a State of the State address to an economic think tank on Wednesday. Mr Minns said he recognised some councils were intentionally obstructive and attempted to bluff the system to avoid building their share of the city's housing. "Last time councils were asked to prepare strategic plans, some of them took 10 years to complete the work. "Long-term strategic planning through the Sydney Plan is welcome.
