A qualification sample of Intel’s abandoned Core i9-14901KE has been tested under conventional and subzero cooling. The unusual Raptor Lake processor contains eight Performance cores, sixteen threads and no Efficient cores. The results suggest that Intel did not reserve especially high-quality Raptor Lake dies for the 14901KE. Those figures are impressive in isolation but do not exceed established Raptor Lake overclocking behavior. The test provides rare evidence of Intel evaluating a pure eight-P-core unlocked Raptor Lake processor.
