Family members and community supporters gathered outside the courthouse Tuesday to honor a 12-year-old girl who was found dead in her Enfield home in March as her stepfather appeared in court on sexual assault charges. The girl's stepfather, Anthony Federline, who is charged with sexually assaulting the girl, had his court appearance continued until October. Before Federline's hearing, the girl's biological father, Robert Rogers, gathered with community members to honor his 12-year-old daughter. Community organizer Libby Protzman stood with Rogers Tuesday to show a presence in honor of the girl at Federline's hearing. NBC Connecticut has learned that the girl's mother filed for divorce against Federline, who is behind bars right now, on June 24.
