People living nearby reported hearing an "explosion" when the fire started near Stanley Wooster Way on the Greenstead estate. Crews from Essex County Fire and Rescue Service were called to the incident at about 9.15pm on Tuesday. A spokesman for the service said: "A crew from Colchester attended and found a small fire had started in an outdoor tool storage area. "Crews made sure the fire was fully extinguished and left the scene at 9.44pm. A picture posted on social media showed a fire engine and an ambulance at the scene.
