Mont. Co. fire, police deny ICE cooperation after Clara Barton Parkway chase
['Mauricio Casillas']
News – NBC4 Washington
In Montgomery County, some are raising questions about whether firefighters who responded to an emergency may have violated a new law limiting cooperation with ICE.
Last Wednesday, U.S. Park Police officers and federal immigration authorities were seen chasing three men on Clara Barton Parkway.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue was called after reports that some of the people who fled may have jumped into the nearby Potomac River.
First responders must answer emergency calls, but any type of cooperation with federal immigration authorities could violate the county's Trust Act.
Montgomery County police also went to the scene.
